Interestingly and a reflection of the last few days, the Big 12 vote for WVU was not unanimous. I don't know the actual breakdown, although both Oklahoma and Texas Tech were said to favor Louisville while Texas favored the 'eers. The announcement said the league was staying at 10 members "for now", which is one way of saying until ND decides what they want to do.

Unlike the ACC or Big Ten, the Big 12 is prepared to take ND in a deal similar to the current Big East deal, leaving ND football NBC owned and operated. In that event, Louisville would likely be invited and BYU may be invited in as a football only member to make up for ND. That will await the outcome of the Big East's attempts to reconstitute itself yet again. As Mike alluded to geography no longer matters and nomenclature became irrelevant with Penn State, so maybe Boise joining the Big East shouldn't be so strange.
