[NU Sports] Farewell Big East

"West" Virginia is really an Eastern school. Their closest Big XIII "rival" will be Iowa State--Ames is 870 miles from Morgantown. This game of collegiate dominoes really sucks. I hope Mizzou has their heads handed to them in the SEC. I can't see them competing successfully on the gridiron with the likes of 'Bama, LSU, Auburn, Gators, Gamecocks, ....you get the point. However, they have always been fairly successful in hoops--a sport which is a distant No. 2 for the SEC. The better fit for the SEC would ironically have been W. Va., but, laughably, they were apparently regarded as too weak academically for that conference.

So, the frenzy continues. West Virgina is joining the Big 12. I thought the SEC
ade more sense but that's why I sit at a cubicle at an insurance company.

utgers and UConn are probably begging the ACC for the last two slots, but one
s reserved for Notre Dame.

have a feeling that the state legislators in Columbus are going to push
eavily to bring Cincinnati into the Big Ten. Yawn.

wish this weren't all about the money.

o Cats!
