As some of you may know, for years there was a contributor on the Husker
List, Bapi Gupta, who used to maintain his own computer rankings, the 
Gupta Power Ratings.  (I think he discontinued doing them in 2007.)

Bapi also used to work for The Sporting News, I think he was their first
webmaster.  

(As an aside, but for a tragic early death due to cancer, his father might 
have received the Nobel prize in Chemistry by now.  I have been told that 
he was on the short list before he died, and that several of the 
other individuals on that list have since been honored.)

Anyway, Bapi's disdain for the BCS computer polls (and especially the
limitations on what factors the computer polls in the BCS are permitted
to use) was obviously well founded based on today's release.
