I agree that their defense has been underwhelming given the pre-season
expectations (though better than Northwestern's defense), but I think 
your 'week to week' comment is premature just two games into their 
first Big Ten season, especially with the 'welcome rookie' schedule 
they were given.  

Wisconsin is probably a BCS lock already, barring a meltdown, and only 
needs a few breaks for an opportunity to take over a top 2 slot.  
Ohio State's 2nd half meltdown in Lincoln last week was pretty much 
unprecedented (certainly for the Huskers).  The Ohio State team I 
saw stomp on Illinois dreams today was a different team, though I 
wasn't entirely surprised by that outcome.

It's time for the Big Ten to play its annual version of Ring around 
the Rosie, where A beats B, who beats C, who beats D, who beats A.  

On the hot seat next week, Wisconsin and Penn State.  Wouldn't surprise 
me for one or both to lose.
