I will have to count on someone else for the MSU stats, but today
We took a 28-10 lead at 7:11 of 3Q
Illinois took a 31-28 lead at 6:53 of 4Q
That's a 3 TD collapse in 918 seconds of game time
Illinois had the ball for 609 seconds, and gained 216 yards
In the 309 other seconds, we gained 13 yards.
The greatest shame is that we are debating 'worst collapses ever' at this point in the program.

Worst collapse ever??
It is hard to take you seriously if you don't remember last year's
Penn State game or the Michigan State loss a few years back that,
I believe, still holds the NCAA record for biggest comeback.
But as I said some weeks back, until Northwestern can prove that it
does know how to hold a big lead and put teams away, our opponents
have good reason not to get worried if they fall behind.
