The Huskers weren't exactly dominating the Big 12 for most of the last
decade, either. The damage wreaked on the Huskers by Steve Pederson (AD)
and Bill Callahan (coach) could take a few more years to recover from.
And given the relative difference in talent available, Northwestern's
defensive game plan against Illinois seemed a lot better after
watching Nebraska's pathetic defense against Wisconsin.
Wisconsin built their offensive line on the model that Nebraska used
in the 80's and 90's, and line play was a major factor tonight.
OSU at Nebraska next week will be an interesting game, but not for the
reasons that one might have listed when the 2011 schedule first came out.
The loser of that game is going to be in a tough position in the race
for the Big Ten conference championship game.
