[NU Sports] So much for that theory ...

Much like PSU a couple decades ago, UNL is finding out that Big Ten football isn't easy and they can't just walk in and dominate a league. Ouch!
What will be interesting to see is whether the Big Ten gets any respect in the polls. SEC schools usually shoot up big time after a big-game win and only drop a couple spots after a big-game loss (even Arkansas after getting blown out by Bama only dropped a few spots) ... and I'm fine with that because the SEC has earned their stripes. What drives me nuts is how Okie State vaults ahead after beating ATM and the Aggies only drop a few ... the pollsters seem to give Pac 12 and especially Big XII teams more credence than Big Ten squads these days.
It's pretty clear that Wisconsin should be in the top 5 teams in the country along with Bama, LSU, OU and Boise. And while we may miss out on a chance with OSU off the schedule this year (there's a "what if?" ... the OSU offense vs. our defense - the highly resistible force vs. the very moveable object), it's good to skip the Badgers this year.
On the flip side, Purdue is looking awful.
I still think these two teams meet again in Indianapolis unless Michigan can pull out a shocker in the northwest division. I think the Wolverines, Illini, PSU and maybe MSU or Iowa are still a notch below but solid bowl teams. OSU, Purdue and NU are gonna struggle to get to those six wins and Indiana and Minnesota are safe to go ahead and make plans at home this December.
GO CATS!!!
