I'm certainly no basketball expert, but 20-10 (10-8) should be sufficient,
assuming we pick up a signature win or two along the way. Our home games
against Illinois, MSU, and Michigan would seem to be particularly important
in building an NCAA resume. If we drop both Baylor and Creighton or any
one of the above three, we'll probably need to steal a win against Purdue
or (gulp) OSU.
Ken Pomeroy currrently ranks us #35 overall and projects us to finish the
OOC slate at 10-1 (losing only @ Creighton), then go 9-9 in conference
during which his model predicts that we go 7-2 at home (losses to Purdue
and Ohio State) and 2-7 on the road (wins at Iowa and Penn State).
FWIW, one year ago we stood at 5-0. Pomeroy ranked us #52 overall, and
projected at that time that we would finish the regular season 17-11
(7-11). Our actual finish was 17-12 (7-11).
