[NU Sports] We own the ACC! :)

Sullinger and crew took no prisoners last night in thoroughly routing a
good Duke team. Duke came into the game with quality wins over both UoM
and Kansas.

Duke was out of the game after the first five minutes. There was a
brief period of time in the first half that Duke looked like maybe they
could claw their way back into the game, but OSU was way too strong.
Coach K admitted to getting a whippin' when he said that his only goal
in the second half was, "not to lose by 30."

It is a long season with plenty of twists and turns, but right now I
don't see anybody playing at the level of OSU.

Jeff

I wouldn't draw any conclusions so far as to the ability of the Cats to
play in "hostile environments". Charleston was a neutral court, and last
night's game in Atlanta was close to a neutral court as the place was
almost empty.

Let's see how they respond at Creighton......will be a great test and an
excellent warm-up for dOSU.

A couple of observa(ions from tonight's game;
1) 'Cats seem comfortable on the road, which ia a very encouraging sign.
My
ear was that they woukd fall apart in hostile environments without
Juice, Not
appenin'--so far.
2) Luka is playing much more aggressively at both ends. Can he keep it
up when
e get to B1G time?
3) If Mirko seems more intense, Carmody is jist the opposite. He
appears to be
ore relaxed, less stressed, more confident in the team he has built. I
noticed
t watching Charleston Final, where he wore the NU athletic jacket,
doffing the
sual sport jacket. I know ot sounds trivial--and probably is--but BC's
affect
ransmits to his 12 guys, and their is a palpable enthusiasm on the bench

henever we make a good play--and there have been many to cheer about so
far.
4) You win with D-Fense, and we are playing hard, and efficiently,
blocking
hots, playing the angles correctly in the passing lanes--and hitting the

oards. Can we sustain this as the season progresses, and we play
stronger more
killed opponents in conference?
an't say yet, but at least we are on the right path. For now, 6-0 feels
real
ood.

I think I ask this every year, but do we have the best record of Big Ten
teams
n the Challenge?
Either way, nice win on the road for the Cats ... dunno how the league
will do
Michigan choked, but the Illini picked up a road win with us), but it's
good
or Carmody's team to get the W.
Sure wish we could do this with the Pac 12 (or even SEC) in football. It
would
wn the talk in September if you spread it out over four weekends!
GO CATS!!!
