[NU Sports] We own the ACC! :)

Agree that both the present and future look promising right now.
I made it out to the SB game, and although it wasn't a stellar team performance, I came away convinced that Sobo has "it"--that intensity and effort and attitude that convinced me that he'll be a good one.
As for Cobb, I'd be surprised if he isn't starting soon, assuming he avoids any more blows to the head. He can do things no one else on the team can. Hearn looks to be a nice addition to the lineup though.

You have to be impressed with the play in the center - with Luka and Davide putting up
some scoring numbers, and even some 3's. The guys are averaging just over 10 points a game
- you just wish they were making a higher percentage of their shots. (one 3 pointer out of
14 attempts for example.) Curletti also has a 5 to 10 Assist to TO ratio, he knows how to
give the ball away.
Alex Marcotullio is turning into another "mad bomber" (.455 from the arc) and definitely
not someone you foul at the end of the game.
You have to wonder how Cobb will slide back into this lineup. I guess he shares time with
Hearn, and that's a good choice to have to make if Cobb is healthy and playing up to his
promise. Too bad he missed last night's game, might help us recruit some more down there.
Right now, Sobo is a pretty good replacement for Juice. He seems to understand most of the
Carmody offense, has a decent assist to TO ratio, and is pretty active on D also. What I
really like is that he seems to know how to break a press, at least the ones he's seen so
far.
All and all, these guys look to me to be like what we all hoped NU would have looked like
last year with Juice and Coble (with Shurna and Crawford adding to the mix).
And barring some EGO eruptions from the non-starters, BC looks like he's setting up for
more than just 2011-12.

Mirkovic's offensive play has certainly looked good early, though the level
of opposing centers will certainly increase in conference play.
And last night on D, NU stuck with man defense for much of the game and
rarely went to the 1-3-1, which they had to do in most of their previous
games after being flat out beat in their more traditional defense. This is
encouraging, as the D certainly needed improvement this season.
Finally, regarding point guard play, Sobolewski has looked rather good and
has some nice moves to get to the basket, too. I don't think any single
player will be able to replace Juice (particularly since he played 4,633
minutes in his NU career), but NU has been handling things pretty well so
far.
Now, of course, the huge test vs. a top 10 Baylor team (after a tuneup vs.
Miss. Valley St.).
