Mike,
Good post, but I believe Dan Persa would take like a fish to water in Canada providing he's 100% healthy. elk

Tell that to Kevin Wilson next season.
There were some other factors not in Gill's favor. The AD who hired
him is no longer there, and it's easier to give the guy you hired
a little more time than the guy someone else hired.-
And there were some who thought Gill was too nice, forbidding staff
to curse, etc. It's a football program, not a FCA revival meeting.
Some of the player comments yesterday were telling, with players
admitting that they didn't try as hard for Gill as they did for
Mangino, because Turner didn't push them enough.
That's why I'm so thankful we have Fitz. The players respect him,
understand his passion. They work extra hard because they know he
would have (and did!), and they know he has their back both on the
field and off. That makes him the last person on the planet they
want to disappoint.
If Dan Persa can't make it in the NFL (I doubt he'll even be drafted),
I'd love to see him on the Northwestern staff in the future.
Same passion!
