Unless the NCAA plans to acts on a waiver request really fast next 
weekend, because most of the bowls will be locked up quickly (several
already have been), UCLA might also be in the odd position of having 
to apply for a waiver on the basis of having lost the Pac-12 
championship game before the game is even played.

As Art Buchwald used to say:  I could not make this stuff up!
