[NU Sports] SJT's timing point was right ....

Hey Steve, he could decide to be part of the BCS BS and then the Big 10 would be home
while even lesser teams played on New Years.

And on the preparation of the team by the coaches....

I think our kids played to their abilities all thru the season, and once the defense
figured out that what Fitz had been preaching was right, to wit - "Football is a Team
Game" - they started to win again.

Anyone who has coached at any level has faced the situation when the players just don't
seem to get it. AS a coach, you can only try something else, and if that doesn't work,
something else again until the light goes on. Sometimes you run out of season, other times
it happens during the first game, but you never know when things will finally click.

Many of us here can remember that losing that 5th game would have doomed the Cats to a
2-10 season with even Indy and Minny standing triumphant over NU. THAT disgrace didn't
happen and our Cats came back with a purpose and drive that carried us through last
Saturday.

This team will be 100% Fitzgerald recruits next year. The Randy Walker guys acquitted
themselves well, as the winningest class ever. The challenge for next year's group of
Seniors is to surpass these guys, and every indication is that is where the 2012 team is
headed.

Go Cats - Expect Victory (and don't cheat)

OK, I should explain the Delaney jabs.

It was at an NU hoops game following the Rose Bowl season where Delaney came to present
the Big Ten championship trophy to Coach Barnett and the "North Caro ... oops ...
Northwestern" Wildcats.

I would agree that for the most part, he's made good decisions for the league ... but he
is part of the B(C)S Cartel of Six who makes the rules and did come up with those division
names.

So NO MERCY! :)

GO CATS!!!

At least get the man's name right before you rip him ... DELANY!

Anyway, while Delany deserves much abuse for various dunderheaded decisions, I doubt he
had much to do with the name of the Iowa-Nebraska trophy.

I like Farmageddon myself.
