[NU Sports] we have to play these guys every year now?

They certainly do - at least with Cousins and Cunningham.

I liked our defensive game plan coming out with the aggressiveness and trying to hit Cousins (and maybe make Dantonio think about resting him).

But that NU fumble inside the five was a key play. We owned Sparty to that point. After that, a long drive, the punt return and bam! It was over.

Give Dantonio credit - he had his team motivated for a meaningless game ... and he knew the exact play to call to stop any NU momentum and seize the opportunity for Sparty.

I almost feel sorry for Sparty - they're in a similar spot to LSU in a month or so ... having to beat a team they already beat to win a title they should have already won.

However, Wisky-MSU is a rematch people actually want to see. Should be a slobberknocker between two teams who really don't like each other in Indy. And with both teams being relatively close drives to Indy and UW always traveling well, I expect a loud, full house in the New Hoosierdome.

Now it's the waiting game and you just gotta hope NU gets in so that Cats like Persa, Ebert and Dunsmore can end their NU careers on a better note. They deserve that at least.

Go Gophers! Go Hoosiers!
GO CATS!!!

No thanks. Sparty owns NU. This was a winnable game that NU never led. The fumble was the turning point, but TWO 90-yard-plus drives? And the big plays were killers.

I listened to the game while at work, so I didn't see it, but it sounds like MSU was physically superior. Sigh.
