[NU Sports] Does ANYONE in the Lil' XII play defense?

Wow - Jonathan you blew my mind, both with your knowledge of obscure rules and with the thought that the B(C)S could indeed suck even more.

I didn't think it was possible!

So two teams (in this scenario Arkansas and LSU) who did not even PLAY in their league's title game, could make it to the B(C)S title game while a third team from their league gets the automatic berth.

Wow - this system is more messed up than I thought!

By current BCS rule, 3 members of a single conference ARE allowed to be in BCS games if the following occurs: #s 1 & 2 are not conference champions (e.g. Georgia beats LSU, but LSU & Alabama remain in the top 2).  In your scenario, as long as LSU remains in the top 2 of the BCS, it'll go to the title game.

In any case, it was quite enjoyable watching all of the games last night after seeing NU clinch bowl eligibility in comfortable fashion.
