[NU Sports] BCS Mess ?

Like I said, I think the Big Ten race this year only shows that a playoff makes the regular season even better!

Think about it ...

- Were the fantastic finishes of Michigan/Notre Dame, MSU/Wisky, OSU/Wisky and other game-of-the-year candidates any less thrilling?
- Were the upsets of NU beating Nebraska in Lincoln, Iowa's controversial win over Michigan or Purdue's blocked PAT of OSU and others any less devastating for title hopes?
- Were the classic head-to-head games of rivals and big-time teams like UNL/PSU and Wisky/UNL or Michigan/OSU andWisky/PSU this week any less epic and anticipated?

Not in the slightest! The season was just as thrilling as ever with upsets, thrilling finishes and classic contests galore.

But instead of some finangled three-way tiebreak that leaves 10-2 MSU out of the mix or sends a team to Pasadena over another because their school played in that game 10 years ago instead of 7 ...

NOW the Rose Bowl berth is decided ON THE FIELD! And even if it's a Wisky/MSU rematch, it's a rematch we'd like to see instead of Bama/LSU. And if it's MSU/PSU, it's a rematch of a decent rivalry in recent years and two teams that toughed out a brutal conference campaign as underdogs to make it to Indy.

I think these conference title games only show the benefits of how a playoff/plus one/anything other than the B(C)S would provide a fitting end to the always terrific regular season.

GO CATS!!!

Hardly, it just changes the dimensions of the argument from 'wwhat 1 loss
team(s) should be in the NC game' to 'which 1 loss teams
should not be the playoffs', which gets even more fun if there are no
undefeated teams, or the only undefeated teams are schools like Houton.

Does #4 Stanford (AP poll) deserve consideration over #5 VIrgina Tech?
