[NU Sports] BCS Mess ?

For you East Coasters who did not stay up for the games out West The Quack attack didn't get into gear until the 4th quarter and then the kicker shanked (hooked ?) a 37 FG attempt for the tie as the clock ran out. Losing at home (and they rarely lose at home)knocks them out of the running.

In the Big Game it was raining pretty heavy and Stanford's coaching staff played it conservatively by not having Luck pass as much, particularly early on and Stanford escaped with a 3 point win.
With good weather he may have been given more leeway even with several of his top receivers injured. (This game may have eliminated his Heisman aspirations though I still think he will be drafted # 1). But having their title killers (the Ducks) lose knocks out any discussion for Stanford as a one loss team going for the title

Subject: [NU Sports] BCS Mess ?

Well after the Cowboys loss on Friday the e mails went out (including mine)about the chaos now created for the BCS and the championship game

After yesterday's upsets the picture will be easily resolved if ( a big if) the SEC games left go according to Hoyle. We simply get a rematch between the Tigers and the Tide. (Hard to even suggest the Cougars in my mind if Bama has one loss to #1 team by 3 points in OT)

Discussing this won't even be fun without all of the arguments. Heck I might even have to back SJT for a playoff since I'm against one because it eliminates the fun

Sheesh - this is getting downright pathetic! Though I'm sure Okie State and Oklahoma will be 1/2 in the computer rankings again tomorrow.

I think Michigan can feel pretty good about a B(C)S berth if they beat those Buckeyes (a tall order given recent history) next week now.

The B(C)S must be PRAYING the SEC is as good as they usually are at making sure their #1 goes through the end unbeaten, because if LSU drops to Arkansas or Georgia, we have total chaos!

My dream scenario? LSU loses to UGa in the SEC title game and we get a title game of Bama/Stanford -- two teams that won't even play in their own league title games.

And like I said, this year's Big Ten race (quite similar to the B(C)S top-two race so far with upsets galore) only shows that none of the sacred regular season would be gone with the playoff - it would be intensified!

B-C-MESS!!! B-C-MESS!!! PLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY-OFF! :)

GO CATS!!!
