This was brought up some time last week, but . . .
The men's soccer team will play their opening game in the NCAA tournament (NO BCS here SJT) this Thursday (11/17) versus defending national champion Akron (yes, Akron) at 6:30pm central time. Game will be played in Akron. Should be a tough game, but the Cats come in with an 11 game unbeaten streak. Akron had to sneak in after a bit of a lackluster season.
Indiana is the only other Big Ten school in the tournament. They're ceded #16 and will play their first game this weekend. Cats, even though they won the Big Ten and the Big Ten tourney are not ceded.
For those of you (probably most of you) who don't follow the sport, at least at the college level, Indiana, in terms of Big Ten soccer, is analogous to tOSU or Michigan in football. They're a perennial top 25 power nationally and generally the class of the Big Ten.
As far as I can tell there will be no media (radio, tv, web streaming) of the game. More info at this link: http://www.nusports.com/sports/m-soccer/spec-rel/111411aaa.html
Cheers,
jm
