[NU Sports] Big Ten Coaches

Whike it may be unfair to Tom Bradley and the other assistants still on staff, they will be held to a "guilt by association" standard. Given the breadth, magnitude and notoriety of this scandal (a word that seems inadequate), it seems a certainty that the Trustees will insist on cleaning house.

I personally think they will make a run at Al Golden, who did wonders at Temple, and was an assistant under JoePa. He was defrauded by the Miami adninistratiin, which conveniently "forgot" to tell him the NCAA was investigating and was about to lower the boom. Of course, query whether he and Greg Schiano., of Rutgers, are fatally tainted by their respective time at PSU--i.e., what did they know and when did they know it?

Personally I will be surprised if the next head coach
comes from the ranks of the assistants at Penn State, and
I don't know that any of them will be retained by
the new head coach, either.

What that will do to Penn State football over the next few
years remains to be seen. Retaining all or most of the
assistants doesn't always guarantee any continuation of
success.
