>    One thing I don't understand:  Last week, we're up 14-10 in a hostile environment and send our green kicker in to try a 41 yard field goal. It was 4th and 2 after very conservative 3rd and 5 hand-off in which it appeared we were going to "go for it" on 4th down; the situation screamed for it. He missed it.  This week, at home vs. Rice with no pressure up 21-0 its 4th and 9, and we don't let the same kicker try a 41 yarder?  I didn't get that... Maybe working on 4th and long yardage situations?

Unless one has a proven kicker, the decisions are probably made based
on game day circumstances, such as what the wind is and how the kicker
was doing during warmups.
