I"m not a lawyer, but your definition of 'danger to the community' is 
probably not the same as that in the law. 

Is he likely to become violent?  

Given the attendant publicity, is he likely to have the same type of
access to minors that he had in the past?  It's not like he was sneaking
around in dark alleys or hanging around school parking lots.  

There's also could have been other conditions imposed upon him
as part of the release on bail that have not been as widely reported.

It is ironic that the alleged perpetrator is often guaranteed fairer
treatment than others, though.
