The Trib has a story on the B10 Coaches' Conference Call today: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/chi-big-ten-coaches-react-to-paterno-scandal-20111108,0,7066121.story

Joe Pa, of course, was in absentia. Fitz's rather cryptic and very brief comment speaks volumes, especially in view of the more comprehensive comments from his coaching peers. He must be in total shock, as one of his heroes is shown to have flaws that the Greeks would have waxed poetic about.

Anybody other than Yours Truly fearful that when the (asbestos) dust settles, the PSU Board of Trustees and whoever becomes their AD will reach out to Fitz to clean up the mess? His reputation for integrity will be a big selling point, not to mention his ability to recruit, coach and motivate. Whether he would even consider a gig in (un) Happy Valley at this point is certainly in doubt. But he has to be in the "mentioned" category when the time comes to fill Joe Pa's (not quite as) legendary shoes.

As for Bielema, he once again demonstrates his stupidity, vacuity, and general lack of sensitivity. Saying that "if there are things that have brought (negative) situations to people’s lives, you hope everyone there protects them and looks out for their best interests" is saying nothing. This was child-molestation, not the euphemistically styled "(negative) situations". What a supreme idiot! BB would have been better off saying nothing or just going "Duh". Would you entrust your football-playing son to that lout? Sandusky's counsel better hope he has a jury full of Bielemas.
