[NU Sports] one angle I wonder about

I think we are in uncharted waters ... the first BT championship game and now this? I don't know. And if PSU does decline a bowl bid and doesn't play in the BT title game ... strange. At that point OSU's win over Wisconsin becomes huge.
You could make a case that PSU should play in the tjtle game but not a bowl (obligation vs. reward) but ... I don't know.
I do know this: if Joe coaches Sat -- which I believe firmly he should not -- he better stay in the press box. The sight of him leading the team on the field would be grotesquely inappropriate.

It's hard to say whether it would be harder to prepare for the game
if Joe is forced out before Saturday (50-50 at this point, I'd say) or if
he's still there, up in the pressbox as he has been for the past several games.
Bo Pelini has sort of been through this before. He was the interim coach after
Frank Solich was fired, and coached the Huskers to a 17-3 win over
Michigan State in the Alamo Bowl.
Not that it makes prepping for the game easier, but he has been on
the other side of that coin.
If Penn State declares itself ineligible for a bowl, would they also take
themselves out of the running for the Big Ten Championship game?
