I thought about that too, as someone who'd like to see the Huskers win the rest of the games on their schedule.
Realistically, though, I think the impact is fairly minor. I think they will mostly be busy with their usual preparation--working on themselves, and on what PSU has done on the football field (probably taking some comfort in seeing that the PSU defense couldn't stop us either).
The game day atmosphere might be a bit weird, but the only impact would be if a lot of people stayed home, which would be to the Husker's benefit anyway. I guess the big question would be who might be calling the offensive and defensive plays, and how to deal with any unknowns there.
But it has to be really weird for the PSU guys. I assume most of them will be motivated to go out and win one for Joe, but there may be mixed feelings, and there are certainly a lot of distractions. I suspect they also don't know how their fans and fellow students will react on game day.
Speaking of game day, what the heck does PSU do there? Do you acknowledge what happened publicly in any way, like a moment of silence? And if Paterno is actually there coaching, it will be his last home game ever as head coach. How do you recognize that?
Tom
