[NU Sports] PIGSKIN PICKS - Week 11

Hard to remember with all of the other disturbing news out of college football in the past few days, but we did have games this weekend - including a glorious upset in Lincoln (Remember the Alamo Bowl!) and a snoozer of a "Game of the Century" in Tuscaloosa that shenanigans are already in the works to see done again in the title game (even though they can't meet in the conference's own "title" game!). Great D? Sure! But also a sloppy game for the offenses and special teams. No thanks on a rematch. If we couldn't get OSU/Michigan in 2007, then we shouldn't get this one. The B(C)S sucks!


On to week 12, where we have a better lineup of games in Big Ten country than last week's slate and a pretty big matchup out west, where I am officially switching sides and cheering for the overrated Cardinal - hoping that they win their scorefest with the Quacks and go unbeaten, only to finish #3 behind B(C)S darling Alabama ... maybe THEN the Big Ten and Pac 12 will wise up and drop out of this sham of a system that's rigged for the SEC and Little XII (with the pseudo-conferences of the ACC and Big Least in on the joke) and go back to the REAL Rose Bowl and match up our leagues in more of the bowl games. Screw the cartel and screw the B(C)S!!!

So anyway, standings may have to wait until Friday (busy week at work) but picks due by kickoff Saturday ... there is a Thursday game involving top 20 teams, but they're ACC top 20 teams, so ... nah. GO CATS!!!

GAME 3: WISCONSIN ... Badgers desperately hoping the Huskers or Buckeyes can stomach the Smirk enough to help them out
GAME 4: PENN STATE ... A few days ago, I was sure JoePa would win his possible home finale in their march towards Indy ... now, it's 50/50 with the off-field woes
GAME 5: OHIO STATE ... Big game for both of these guys' bowl hopes ... Cats fans need a Bucks win to eliminate Boilers ... so Go ... Buc ... eh, can't say it!
GAME 6: OREGON ... The Cardinal D sucks ... so does Oregon's, but they'll suck one series less in this 63-56 shootout
GAME 7: GEORGIA ... Can the Dawgs do the impossible and beat LSU in the SEC title game and really mess up the B(C)S? Please UGa, PLEASE!!!
GAME 8: SOUTH CAROLINA ... Toss up with the injuries, but the Gamecocks continue to make Florida irrelevant to the college football world (whoda thunk!)
GAME 9: FLORIDA STATE ... Continuing that theme ... this game used to mean something ... a long time ago in a galaxy far far away
GAME 10: BOISE STATE ... This is the year to give the Broncos a shot ... but they need to beat TCU first and hope the B(C)S computers catch a virus
