In August of 1995, when we went up into the redwood forest at Muir Woods
National Monument, it was in the low 60's there, but it had been in the
high 90's just before we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, and it was over
100 a bit north of there as we drove back to Concord CA.
However, according to snopes.com, Mark Twain didn't quite say
"the coldest winter I ever spent was last summer in San Francisco."
