[NU Sports] Fantasy Football Weekend

Dear List Friends:

I have gone to the mountaintop of football fandom for one glorious two-day stretch.  Heading into this weekend, I cared passionately about three games, and in each game my team was a road underdog.  The 'Cats, of course, are the biggest, and best story, shucking the Huskers.  With that tasty delight behind me, my 2 pro teams--the JETS (my real team) and the GIANTS (my second team, but playing the hated Patriots, a Jets rival to boot) were looking at daunting challenges on the road in Buffalo and Foxborough.  So what happens?  The Jets crush the Bills, and now I am wondering what is going on in the Universe, since the Jets and 'Cats rarely make me happy the same weekend.  And then, the coup de grace, as Eli F'ing Manning takes the Giants back against Coach Hoodie and QB Pretty Boy, and the Giants once again overtake the Pats, just like in the Super Bowl.  

And for a little icing on the cake, I was rooting for LSU over 'Bama last night, although without any true commitment, like in the other 3 games.   Yes, a wonderful weekend of Pigskin fun.  I will treasure this always.  Thank you, Wildcats, Jets and Jints for giving Yours Truly a simply wonderful birthday present three days early (On Nov. 9th I will be one year short of 6 decades.).
