I've sat through quite a few games in Memorial Stadium, the south stands
don't really block the wind that much, especially when it is strong.
(Bernoulli effect, I suppose.)
I've seen punts that looked like they hit a brick wall, I've even seen one
shanked punt that was blown backwards and wound up with negative yardage
despite not being touched by the receiving team.
Punts, kickoffs and Martinez's ugly lobbed passes might be severely affected,
but Nebraska's bread-and-butter has historically been the running game,
and they seem to be moving back in that direction. Even Tom Osborne
commented on this in the last week when he said that some of the plays
in the playbook are starting to look familiar to him.
I think the Nebraska field is still fairly heavily crowned, too,
even though they went from Astro-Turf to Field Turf some years back.
