I was checking the forecast for tomorrow's game to help figure out what to pack, and it looks like it's going to be a nice day, but very windy--sustained winds out of the south at 25mph, with gusts over 40. As I recall, the south stadium is pretty tall, so the on-field effects of the wind might not be as significant as they would at Ryan Field, but I'm guessing they will have an effect.
Normally, I'd expect strong winds to hurt us more, given our much heavier reliance on the passing game. However, Martinez's passes tend to be sky-high lobs, as compared to Persa's usual laser beams, so it may work to our advantage at times.
If we get lucky with how possessions fall with respect to direction, the winds might help mitigate some of Nebraska big advantage in kickoff and punt length. Of course, if we get unlucky, it could make our disadvantage there even more of a problem.
Regardless of what happens, we've still got Bring Us Your Champions, which is out with another stellar edition this morning

"The Wildcats also must win in Lincoln's creatively-named Memorial Stadium against 80,000 screaming Husker fanatics hoping to intimidate the Northwestern offense with noise and their horrifying mascot who lurks in the shadows with his frozen grin belaying a confidence in all manners of sinister uses for corn farming implements."
The photoshopped take on that William Shatner Twilight Zone episode is truly inspired.
