Most private employers these days DO require a certain amount of service in return for funding educational costs. My oldest son recently had to repay some of what Honeywell had paid for his Masters degree when he got a better job closer to home with GE.

FWIW - the military has always required it officers and men to sign extensions of their
contracts when they attend the upper level schools.
For example, Naval Academy guys are technically on the hook for 6 years. Electronics Techs
also extend their enlistments for 2 additional years just to get into the electronics
school.
One the other hand, our local school district used to have a fund that paid for higher
education by its teachers. My wife got her masters through that program and didn't have to
agree to stay at in the district for any greater length of time.
I'm surprised more private industry doesn't have rules regarding higher education and
employment terms. I guess you have to have an real employment contract to have such
things.

Not so fast SjT, the SEC did not infect dOSU with dirtbag syndrome, they
developed their own BT version just fine. Tressel had been practicing
cheating ever since Youngstown State, some people call me Maurice..etc. Corruption
is everywhere in big money college football, the CATS!!! have one of the
cleanest program, but I know of some hijinks even with our own kids. I
think the idea of paying the players and signing them to a contract where as
they owe a refund of their tuition if proven to have taken payoffs is the way
to go. When I got my MBA, my employer paid half my tuition and I left
their employ right after graduation for double my salary. They quickly changed
the policy to where anyone taking the money had to stay around or pay it
back.
