The timing does stink all around for OSU. Interesting things can happen when the interim guy gets a full year. It could fall apart and OSU could go on their big-name hunt for St. Urban or Pellini, or ...

... the Bucks could rally and have a year that sticks them with the interim guy (ala Miami and Larry Coker). You couldn't fire the guy who brought the team through a storm and won the Big Ten, could you? Even for St. Urban???

It should be an even more interesting Big Ten year ... I think some schools (Wisconsin, Nebraska) will smell blood in the water with OSU and look to step up. An OSU friend of mine at work had been bemoaning since January how UNL would come into the Big Ten and just dominate and I kept reminding him that people said the same thing about Penn State. But having the NCAA chop down your league's goliath a bit does make it easier for the Huskers to step in and dominate, especially with the league's other Big Blue-blood rebuilding from the RichRod disaster.

But it also opens things up for others to rise in the void - let's go Persa and LET'S GO CATS!!!
