Hey guys,

Please read the message below. The athletic department is cutting the entire
dance team program next year. I have a couple friends on the Ladycats and
this is devastating to them right now. I know we'd all be crushed and
angry if they did something crazy like cut NUMB so it's really important to
show our support for them. We love our Ladycats after all (as we say each
game!); they cheer the team on every week just like us and it's important to
stick by others in purple!

Please spread the news anywhere you can, I'm sure the team would really
appreciate it!

Northwestern University Athletic Department has plans to cut the dance
program this coming year. My team would appreciate if you'd send an email
showing for support for the Ladycats to the athletic department. If you
wouldn't mind forwarding this email to other friends of yours who support
the dance team, it would be very much appreciated. A template is below, but

To Whom It May Concern:



            As a Northwestern Wildcats fan, I would like to voice my support
for the continuation of Northwestern’s Varsity Dance Team, known as the
Ladycats. The Ladycats are a vital part of our athletic tradition and
sporting events, having cheered on the ‘Cats for decades and given countless
hours of time and energy to promoting school spirit. The Ladycats need to
continue to be part of the Athletic Department as a recognized sport
separate from cheerleading, as they have been in the past. I believe that
the Ladycats performance has consistently been of exceptional quality and
entertaining for fans, and I value having them dance at athletic events.
Please keep the Ladycats in the Athletic Department, Northwestern University
would not be the same without them.




Thanks so much for your concern and for wanting to help.  Hopefully future
Ladycats for years to come will appreciate it!
