[NU Sports] Pay to Play

Except that the BT and PAC-12 have consistently been against any talk of a playoff. I think this talk about a stipend is in part a recognition that a scholarship does not cover the basic costs of attending school and a kid from a struggling family, who is unable to have an outside job, has no spending money for dates, laundry or hanging out at a bar. There is also a court case working its way through the system on the restrictions the NCAA has placed on outside income while prohibiting schools from funding the full cost of attendance.
