[NU Sports] Cats beat BC

Dennis is actually more optimistic than me. While he throws a bunch of ifs in his analysis, I don't see Shurna as an All American candidate, just a solid BT player. I think we could make the expanded tournament and even get a W early on but we still will likely have a lot of holes. Size is still key, particularly in the BT. We will still be woefully behind the conference's best unless a lot more guys go pro than I think will

Relying on treys is great if you can make them like we did today and some other games, but it is a risky business not only because shooters can get cold but defenses can eventually figure out that you might have a weak inside game and play tighter on the good
shooters. To me, Dennis and I agree on one major item; the need for a solid big man. Without that we are limited going forward

Still while disappointed that we couldn't live up to the expectations of so many this year and get asked to the dance,I'm thrilled that we are in unchartered territory. No matter what happens going forward,we can all say we went further in the post season than ever before. And yes that means we must keep BC at least one more year

The four C's - Cobb, Crawford, Curletti, and Capocci - have to become the
four A's next year - their play, that is. IF Crawford finally becomes the
dominant player everyone keeps saying he should be and IF Cobb does a
Shurna-like improvement from frosh to soph year and IF Curletti and Capocci
play off the bench as they did in the last portion of this season and not
like the rest of this season and IF all of them can remain healthy, then we
can get into the tourney as a bubble team. IF all that happens and IF we
obtain a good center, we could vie for the conference title and be a sure
tourney selection. Those are more IFs than Rudyard Kipling could handle, so
I'll hold the celebration until I see it happen.

Yep, Carmody gets one more year - at least. Only time will tell whether
that is good or bad.
