[NU Sports] Buckeyes in Hot Water with NCAA (Again)?

I watched ESPN News, which included part of the press conference.  Maybe I'm
tired, but I found Tressel's comments to be incomprehensible.  No idea what he
was talking about.

Gene Smith came across as defiant, although he took pains to thank everyone in
the universe.  I loved it when he referred to Tressel's "body of work".
Translation:  he wins games.

To be honest, I have always liked Tressel and think that he's generally a
stand-up guy, so I'm disappointed in this.  I find the "self reporting" penalty
of a two game suspension to be a weak slap on the wrist and a disgrace.  I think
that the NCAA will be under some pressure to expand this.

I think that Gene Smith should take some heat for the way that he is managing
this.  He's trying to sound like a good, law-abiding AD, while his primary
objective is to cover his and tOSU's butt.  You're right:  it does smell bad.

This is BS. He is not this naive. He knew exactly what he was doing. My sense is
that he is taking the fall for at least the AD. This REALLY smells bad.
