If they didn't stop that gawdawful red turf in Eastern Washington, then it won't stop until MSU goes back to that hideous lime green astroturf from the 1980s. At least the blue and purple ROCK!

... I think that when Jim thinks, he agrees with me. The rest of the time, he's just trying to be contrarian. :)

Overall, I was half joking. A purple turf would be cool and it looks great (just like those checkerboard end zones may look bad in Tennessee's Rocky-Top-weak shade of orange but looked great in purple) ... but I like our grass fine. Like Notre Dame, we can use our grounds crew as an advantage and neglect to trim the grass for a couple weeks before some speedy team comes to town. :)

But purple towels, poms and thundersticks are a must for those night games next year, Mr. Phillips!
