[NU Sports] Football Talk

I think it all depends on how Persa plays. If he plays like the Persa
of old and stays healthy, I think we can make it to the first league
championship game. His stats last year had him in the top five QB's in
the country in several categories. If he has lost sufficient quickness
that he can't effectively run the ball, and we don't find somebody else
to force the D to respect the run, 6-6 could be a struggle.

Being bored (and sweltering in Chicago), let us talk about the glorious

sport of football. Imho, I see our schedule breaking down into 3
parts...

The good -

Nebraska
Michigan State

Teams like us -

Michigan
Iowa
Boston College
Illinois
Penn State

The Bad

Eastern Illinois
Army
Indiana
Minnesota
Rice

If we fall to the good teams, and beat the bad teams, we can probably go

5-2. That leaves 5 teams like us - if we can go 3-2 against them.
Does
anybody else see 8-4 (4-4) possible ? Perhaps the other Texas bowl
game ?
Also, a good year to miss Wisconsin and Ohio State...
