[NU Sports] Wildcats out of the Dance

I have forced myself to keep quiet most of this NU basketball season
because I am nothing more than a casual BB fan other than NU ball.

But I saw this coming and even a novice like myself can see the truth
about this team and I can no longer remain mute about it......Carmody must Go.

I have followed all the posts here throughout the team's ups and downs,
and have been in as much denial as anyone. But that is what it is. Denial.

I realize he just got an extension. Gasp.
But unless this is the best NU is prepared to be satisfied with, enough
is enough. Not to say that this team won't rise up and tease us again
before the season's end. But in the end, there will be no invitation to the
Dance.

This is as good as it gets. And not only because of today's 30 something
embarassement. It's because Carmody is just not good enough. Not smart
enough. And not wise enough (too egotiscal?) to manage/coach a tournament team.
Why?

For starters, not finding a way to keep Coble in the fold. THAT would
have made us a Tourney Team. That would have protected Shurna when he was
hurt. That would have lessened the pressure loaded upon our role players; and
expecting them to match up with top quality Big Ten player opposition..
That's what a Coach Ryan, or coach K would have done.

When the chips are down (e.g. Mich State last week) he clearly gets out
coached. And if he is capable of producing anything but a competitive team,
how come this group of very talented players from last year's team (except
for Shurna and Thompson) keep slowly regressing. Especially Marcotulio and
Crawford; Neither is the player they were last year as true freshmen.

I'm died in Purple too. I'll keep rooting. But my expectations are
hereby reduced to the subject line.
It is too painful to watch anymore without crying. No more purple koolaid.

Lou
