[NU Sports] PIGSKIN PICKS - Bowl Pool standings

Yeah, I know it took a long time ... but it seems short compared to the interminable bowl season this year. And I'm sorry, but the glut of meaningless games this year honestly put me to sleep, as did the slopfest of a title game. Only the Rose Bowl (bless its soul) was worthy of the buildup.

Thankfully, the NFL playoffs came along with upsets (sadly for my Saints), emotional rivalries, great games and stadiums with seats filled by excited fans! No longer can college claim to have the excitement edge over the NFL - thanks again for that, B(C)S.

But anyway, on to the final standings ...

* CONGRATULATIONS to Carl Rossi, who finished 16-4 to cruise to the bowl pool title over Ray Stahl and Ivars Embrekts, who each had 14-6 marks.

Carl only missed the title game, PSU's loss and two games just about everyone missed - the Washington win over UNL and UCF's upset of Georgia.

Congrats again Carl and if anyone thinks they did better than 16-4, e-mail me and I'll double check the picks, but I don't think anyone beat Carl.

So below is the updated hall of fame - thanks for another fun and enjoyable season. College football is a great game with an amazing regular season (one of the reasons I'm so angry at the B(C)S for bringing such a great thing to a crushing thud every year) - but these annual picks make it even better. Hope to see you all back next August!
