I was trying to be somewhat facetious.  I wouldn't expect any Big Ten alum to switch their fan support to another Big Ten school either.

Though it would be, I don't know, 'amusing' if some disgruntled fans did switch over in protest.

Good idea, but the roots of the Michigan fans run deep.

It is a Saturday religion based on generational commitment. 

That's why poor performance on the field, particularly with OSU, has
driven deep unhappiness with both the Coach and the current Michigan
administration.

Michigan fans feel that winning is their right and the direct result of
everything that is good and true about the University and the state.

They want to beat OSU because they feel that OSU's SEC-like approach to
football is the great evil and it is their destiny to overcome that evil
with pure Michigan.
