[NU Sports] So I guess Texas Tech ...

The Tigers certainly got some key defensive plays when they needed it. Time and time again they either got a sack, tackled a runner for a loss or small gain or just kept Oregon from reaching the chains at crucial times. While not the same team as last year,it still makes our 4th quarter comeback in Tampa look a lot more amazing
For those of you who aren't convinced the SEC is the best conference , I say you are not watching enough games. I did watch Oregon a lot this year, and they were darn good. To be beat by Auburn tells me not only what a strong team they were, but also is a testament to their competition vs the Pac 10's. While the BT has some tough teams as well, no one can tell me with a straight face that they are better than the SEC Five straight titles does their talking. Now when it comes to academics....

IMHO, what I saw was a bigger, stronger Auburn pushing the smaller Oregon defense around.
Oregon closed the holes quick, but when they needed the yards, Newton or someone else had
the time and space to make it happen.
Now there were times in the first half when Oregon had the Auburn D back on their heels,
blowing hard, but Auburn came up with defensive plays that got them the ball and kept the
Ducks out of the endzone.
BTW, I have no personal animosity towards ESPN - they provide coverage of several youth
sports programs that I work with and which is a major selling point for sponsorship of our
local efforts.

Ironic that you of all people advertise the fact that you watched the BCS
title game on ESPN, helping to perpetuate the system you hate so much
instead of canceling your cable/satellite so as not to hand over about $3
per month (and your viewership) to ESPN.
In any case I think it's pretty clear what great pressure up front with your
DL can do with Auburn looking like a polar opposite of NU down the stretch
this season on the line. Auburn's secondary wasn't that great and gave up
some big plays but those guys in the middle made plays all night long.
