2011: I'm optimistic that in the 2nd half of the season, we started (key word...started) establishing a running game for the first time in 1 and a half seasons, and I'm REALLY excited about Adonis Smith, Kain Colter, Venric Mark, Tony Jones and Rashad Lawrence.
Master of the Obvious: Our defense collectively disappeared, which was quite disheartening. I'm not so sure we'll be better, but if we can keep the ppg. below 31, we'll win alot of games. Hopefully Persa, being the field general he is, will keep our defense off the field. No surprise that we allowed 45-50 points a game in the last 3 games; Persa knew how to move the sticks; that's what I liked about Colter in the 2nd half vs. Tech.
I like Mike's comment that with Nebraska in the mix, our conference should do better in bowl games. Out of our 8 losses, we've been decided underdogs in 6 of those games, with USC and Bowling Green being the only exceptions. No excuses, but it would be nice to be favored one of these years.
I predicted 8-4 this season because of our soft schedule. I believe we took a small step back, but not a huge drop-off; let's face it, the defense stunk. Persa saw to that by himself. What a splendid job he did!
Looking forward to Spring ball, and still believe our basketball team, with Shurna healthy, will be atleast a "bubble" team.
GO CATS!!! Eric

Obviously a lot will depend on Persa's recovery time - but unlike last year at
his time, I'm willing to put on the purple-colored glasses for 2011.
I like our offensive talent and how the freshmen performed in Dallas.
I like our division (is it legends or leaders again? I could care less :) ) with
inny and Michigan in turnover, our confidence vs. Iowa and maybe even UNL
aving some coach/QB issues.
I like our cross-division schedule, especially compared to what Iowa and
ebraska will have.
We're not the favorite in the west division - but we certainly should be in the
hick of it if everyone stays healthy and we don't have the slip-up game (and
igure out how to hold a freakin' lead against Sparty ... UGH!:) ).
GO CATS!!!
