Amen! The Big Ten and Pac 10 should go back to having our champs meet in the Rose Bowl every year. If the B(C)S chooses to invite us and our fans (and ratings) to fill Notre Dame's oft-vacant slot like they did in the old Bowl Alliance days, fine. But this stupid system is truly the worst of both worlds and until we get that playoff, let's go back to tradition.

Not sure how it would affect the matchups at the top, though, as the SEC pretty much always gets two teams in as well, so the Citrus Bowl is more like Big Ten #3 vs. SEC #3 every year. And as we've shown year after year, we can hold our own in the SEC's backyard of Tampa and Orlando. This year was just a fluke as Alabama is probably the best team in the nation and loaded with NFL talent - they just didn't decide to play until yesterday. We had a somewhat similar situation with Iowa (who really should have been in Jacksonville over Michigan) who played below their talent level much of the year and rose up in a bowl game to look good.

The Big Ten's always going to be at a disadvantage in bowl season - not much we can do about it, but it'd be nice to have it acknowledged by the press every once and awhile instead of hammering on our bowl record.

Oh well ... another thing that will eventually be fixed by the inevitable playoff. DEATH TO THE B(C)S! :)
