[NU Sports] Assurance of Victory

 Was at the historic Cotton Bowl.

$20 cash parking (on top of $75 tickets) seemed a bit excessive.

The pick-up area for NU will-call was not well marked - general will-call and Tech will-call were on the press box side.  NU will-call was a lengthy walk to the other side of the stadium.

Wildcat Priority Points produced a nice seat - 48 yard line, 44 rows up (right where the concourse gate let out).  Too many tech fans in that center section however.  And the 'guns-up' battle cry, as well as the 'gun firing' hand gesture, proved annoying.  Moved to the end zone at half time, where the sun was very warm, and quite comfortable.

Tech had a horse galloping down their side of the field when the team ran out.

Can anyone explain what Tommy Tupperville (sp) was thinking with the on-side kick ?

NU crowd was nice-sized, but the Tech fans came out in numbers, spread out throughout the stadium, like they had decided to come at the last minute.

Also, Tech had a big band that filled up the field ('The Goin' band')

Attendance was announced as 40,121 - no way that figure was accurate  

 


 Have to wonder what the future is for TicketCity Bowl if attendance doesn't pick up

Happy New Year all, a good season (Iowa win) bummed out by a fatal  flaw, 

the dreaded Achilles heel, with a chance at a historic first bowl  victory. I 

think Fitz will have the CATS!!! ready. GO CATS  !!!!!
