Can Persa help develop Colter to be even better if…
1. Starting tomorrow he becomes Dan's workout partner. Colter gets winded...he is 18 years old...let's get trained by the workout wonder Danny boy!
2. He can get the #2 spot, and spell Dan next year, to keep him fresh, and run some plays. We need to keep Dan healthy and Colter can come in and keep the D guessing.
3. He can pick be Dan's personal project for the next 19 months. He needs to learn leadership...
4. He can improve his throwing...though he ain't bad right now...
5. He can continue to run the option for us...he ran it better than anyone in a Cat uniform since Alex Webb against TCU...take notes Persa, that is the way you run the option!
6. Pat Fitzgerald wakes up and ends the Watkins experiment immediately. Seriously, in order for NU to be successful we need to complete the short passes and run the ball, Watkins can do neither consistently, and we simply need to let it go...maybe it is harsh, but we need running quarterbacks who can throw to win…
Can you imagine Dan coming in as a true freshman and doing what Cain did today? I see a bright future, if we can improve the D. With Mark, Smith, Colter, Dunsmore, Ebert and Persa back, we can run lots of great plays, with straight ahead talent, and lots of trickeration. I loved how Colter and Smith together kept the D honest when they played consistently together.
