Well said Jeff.
By the way, terrible call by Tommy T to onside kick. Let us have short field to get back in game.

you MUST have been watching a different game than me.
We lost.
Big deal.
Nobody at halftime would have given this team a snowball's chance in hell to have the ball with a chance to win at the end of the game. Yet there they we were.
This is a young team that was on the verge of getting blown out. Instead they were able to reach down and find something that will make them a very good team next year.
Hurt recruiting?
Are you serious?
If you are a smart football player, which team to do you want to be a part of? Tech just because they managed to win the game or NU because there is clearly something special going on here?
I hate losing as much as anyone. Just ask my wife.
But we were 10+ point dogs in this game with a defense that fell apart at the end of the season and a leaderless offense that struggled to make first downs. Not only did we lose Persa but also Trumpy. These guys had every reason in the world to pack it in and hope for better luck next year. They didn't. Instead they went out an found a way to climb back into the game and put themselves in a position to win it.
I don't know when we will win a bowl game, but I'm confident that we'll have another chance next year.
What I do know is that our recruiting has improved every year even with our string of bowl loses.
So one of these years we will get this particular monkey off our back.
In the meantime, I continue to be very proud of these kids and their "never say die" spirit.
Jeff

At last it's over. Another damn loss in a bowl game, although hardly unexpected. Three and a half hours of Chinese water torture watching the Texas Tech quarterback play an easy game of pitch-and-catch with his receivers. Not surprisingly, the one interception we had was while playing tight coverage - and a good play by Mabin. Our defensive line was downright awful all season, and they got worse as the year went on. Not one blessed sack all day and only sixteen for the entire year and nary a hurry or a knock-down today. Even when TT had to run out the clock, the D-line still allowed two critical first downs. Against a weak defense our offense made a nice comeback, but it only served to make our latest bowl loss even more tortuous to watch. With Persa, we win. But my God, folks. We have to better than one player, even a quarterback. TALENT. We need more football TALENT, especially in both lines and at running back. I know how some of hate hearing that, but it's a fact. I am sick to death hearing how we can't match up with our opponents. It's true, but I'm fed up hearing it.
After today's game, I believe our number two QB might have to be named Colter, not Watkins, who doesn't seem comfortable in the spread offense. And Adonis Smith needs an injection of anti-fumble serum.
Get well, Hunter (my grandson's name), and come back to us well and healthy next season.
