I agree with Eric that turnovers (or, more to the point, lack thereof) will be critical to success today.  I add to that (a) good special teams play (to pick up all possible points on FG's and PAT's and to ensure decent field position throughout) and (b) a good start, so we don't fall way behind early (like Outback) and have to abandon what little running game we are able to muster.

   I'm pulling out all the stops to insure our bowl drought ends today.  My holy NU sweatshirt is on (named as such because its...well...holey. Purchased in 1995).  Purple socks have been washed (Thank God) and donned, and to "cap" it off, I'm wearing the rare and elusive NU hat signed by Lance Clelland,  with the obnoxious purple foam wild cat hat.   
   Vince Browne needs to put Potts on his backside a few times, and as Pat would say, we need to respect the football; no turnovers means less chances for Tech, more chances for NU.  I'm worried about Tech, but the month of to re-group will help our beleaguered team.  A deserved 9.5 underdog ,  the boys will be ready today.  I think our defense will "like the change,"  this is no Wisconsin, and we don't have Leshore and Schteelhause(sp.?) to worry about, I;m calling for a win in a bowl game for the 1st time since the Motor City Bowl; a loss but we got close.
We should also be buoyed by Illinois and Ioa, especially our buddies from Ioa, who didn't read the article that said they were supposed to lose.  I got a weird feeling about this game that were going to kick some Red Raider tail.   Cats 31 Tech 17.
