[NU Sports] When will we ever see another title ?

I guess the 2nd part of my question was:

Are we left with 2 choices - contend for championships, but miss a bowl game some seasons, or

Make a bowl game every year, but fall into that 6-6, 7-5 range that we seem to  be in at present

I would also like to think that we could consistently make bowls, and during that time, also contend for league titles

In the 15 years that the Big XII held its championship game:
Nebraska represented the North division 6 times,
olorado represented the North division 4 times
ansas State represented the North division 3 times
issouri represented the North division 2 times
2/3 of the teams in the North division made it to the championship gam
t least once.  (And Iowa State came pretty close to it once.)  
Oklahoma represented the South division 8 times
exas represented the South division 5 times
exas A&M represented the South division 2 times
1/2 of the teams in the South division made it to the championship game
t least once.  
Would I be satisfied with Northwestern representing the "whatever 
hey called it division" of the Big Ten twice in the next 15 years?  
Maybe.  I'd like to see us get there more frequently than that, though.
