ice in Evanston is the best.
 
All those stone steps, particularly at Tech, were the best for fall watching.  I recall on one particularly slippery morning, the crowd had impromptu scoring for stylish falls complete with lower scores from the east Germans.

I certainly do.  It was my junior year, although being from Pennsylvania, I
didn't find it very unusual.  I also recall an ice storm - can't remember if
it was that year or earlier.  You literally could not walk.  Afterwards, I
never saw so many people wearing casts in my life.
