[NU Sports] JFK a 'Cat

To divert everyone from today's depressing defeat, I offer some NU trivia I picked up this week, while reading Chris Matthews' wonderful new biography of JFK, entitled "Jack Kennedy--Elusive Hero".  At page 46 Matthews writes "In July [1941], Jack transferred to midhsipman's school at Northwestern University, and from there applied to the Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron Training Center in Melville, Rhode Island."  Thus, we can cast off our reputation as nurturing losers in Presidential races (e.g., Adlai Stevenson, George McGovern, Dick Gephardt) and claim JFK (however briefly) as our own.  Since he attended NU in the summer, maybe we can refer to him as our "Cherub".:-)
